(As of Sept. 22nd it’s only 100 days to the new year!)
I know you are probably thinking “What? A New Year’s Resolution in September? What’s going on?”
I say “Why not!” On Jan 1st of every year millions mark the day as a fresh start and make resolutions to exercise more, lose weight and eat healthy. Then reality kicks in on Jan 31st (4 weeks later) when the
scale is still not budging and the late night snacking is still happening.
While I am not a psychologist and I am not here to analyze why people don’t keep their resolution. I am here to share an observation from my own clients and gym participants. Building healthy habits is an excellent goal, but it takes time. Some people are faster than others in adapting those new habits. Some are also more patient than others in keeping up with the new habits. Others, unfortunately, get discouraged when the positive results they were hoping for are not showing up as fast.
For those, I say don’t wait until that day to make that healthy resolution. Start now and try the following:
The beauty of starting now is that you are not under the “cultural pressure” of starting with everyone else and hoping that you are one of the lucky ones to see your resolutions materialize. Start building the habit today. So when Jan 1st comes, you would have already started seeing some of the results of your work and that will make you push even further to achieve your healthy goals in the new year.
Happy Healthy Transformation!
