What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
The biggest challenge was making time for myself. I also initially found it was difficult to make better food choices and not just reach for junk food because it’s easier.
What motivated you to stay on the course?
Seeing the scale move in right direction each week truly helped me to stay on course. Even the weeks the scale didn’t move as much as I would have liked, Rami offered words of encouragement that helped me to get over the hurdle.
Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
Yes, my diet had to change! It was too easy to reach for the ready-made, processed foods. I’m now eating more chicken, fish, fruits and vegetables. After a couple weeks I found I was feeling better which I attributed to decreasing the amount of processed foods in my diet and moving more.
What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
Make the commitment. Don’t let one or two bad days (or more) define the entire journey. It’s much too easy to throw in the towel after a bad day. As Rami says, it’s just a speed bump or a pothole in the road. If you hit one, you don’t stop your car. You drive through it to reach your destination.
How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
I need to remember in order to take care of others, I need to take care of myself also.
