Name: A. Fevrier
Location: JFK Medical Center. Atlantis, FL Improvement: 15 lbs. Weight Loss Time: 3 Months Program: 2009 Total Transformation Challenge - Summer Challenge What do you find to be the biggest challenge or obstacle in your health journey? Biggest challenge/obstacle is staying away from simple carbohydrates because it is the staple of our society. Simple carbohydrates are everywhere and taste very good. I have a very difficult time choosing right if I am placed in a situation where everything else looks better than the veggies and salad. What motivated you to start this journey? I needed to feel and look healthier at my age. I began to feel that I was losing my luster and the energy was being sucked out of me. I also did not want to become a health statistic because as a health professional I realized the negative impact of lack of exercise, unhealthy eating habits and lack of exercise. How have you changed your diet and lifestyle? I began to eat more vegetables, fruits, less sugar. I changed my method of cooking to more baking, boiling, steaming. I also prepared most of meals and took them to work because I am very bad and choosing right when I have too many options. However, I allow myself a slice of the birthday cake if there is a celebration because that is what life's about. But I try to get back on track right away. What advice would you give to others on the same journey? Stay on the right course. It takes a long time especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. It does not happen overnight. It requires a lifestyle change because the only way to take it off and keep it off is to be aware of the choices you make and the end result. The exercise requires disciple because we work full time and it is very easy to give it up because we have a good reason to be tired and out of energy. However, this is where the trap is set because we sit at home tired and then end up eating more junk to give us a false sense of energy. How has this journey changed you? It has changed my outlook on how life presents many challenges to us that look unsurmountable. However, once you start working on removing those obstacles it does not look impossible to conquer those challenges. I have come to understand since my journey began 2 years ago that this is a lifestyle change and that I have to implement those healthy changes every single day throughout my life. Thanks Rami for giving me this wonderful opportunity to continue my journey to well being. It is slow, difficult and challenging but well worth every minute, every effort, every sweat. I wish I had more to give sometimes. Thank you again. I will continue to persevere. ! ChatGPT What do you find to be the biggest challenge or obstacle in your health journey?
