What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My biggest obstacle was fear. After having my heart issues, I was reluctant to push myself beyond my comfort zone. I was short of breath just walking up the stairs in the parking garage, and thought going from there to the gym would probably kill me! When a colleague (Cheryl Farrell) asked us all to join the challenge, I went over and made a deal. I would try my best!
What motivated you to stay on the course?
As I started paying attention to both my eating habits and activity levels, my breathing improved, I stopped having chest pressure, and felt better than in the past two years. After a few weeks, and with lots of encouragement from our Trainer and my team, I was leading in points. Go figure!
How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
This experience has given me the start I needed to begin a new way of living.
