Name:                         S. Hoffman
Improvement:           15 lbs Weight Loss / 7% Reduction of Body Fat
Time:                           3 months
Program:                    2015 Total Transformation Challenge—Summer Edition

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My biggest challenge was getting started and believing in myself. I have worked out in the past and tried many different diets, but found it hard to stick with something. Once I stopped telling myself that I can’t do this and started telling myself that I can, there was no stopping me.

What motivated you to stay on the course?

My teammates were a big motivation to me. Knowing that we were all in this together and we all had a personal goal we wanted to reach pushed me each week to work out and lose weight. I also have high cholesterol, and would love to eliminate or lower the amount of medication I take. Changing my lifestyle will help tremendously with that.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!

My diet changed A LOT!!! I started measuring out everything I ate only certain foods from each food group. I eat salads every day, but only use hot sauce as a dressing nothing else. I am strict during the week, so I could have a cheat on the weekend. I also began eating breakfast (which I didn't do in the past) within one hour after I woke up. In addition I started drinking a lot of water. I think the combination of portion control, hot sauce and water was the trick for me.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?

Believe in yourself. Set small achievable goals, and when you reach your goal set another. Don't give up, no matter how hard it might get. It is so worth it and addicting!!

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?

I will continue my eating and exercise routine. I plan on having goals every week for myself and still do the weekly weigh-ins to stay on track. The next competition is in December, which is just around the corner and I want to be ready for it.
