Name:                            M. Vargas
Improvement:              14 lbs. Weight Loss / 4+% Reduction of Body Fat
Time:                              3 months
Program:                       2013 Total Transformation Challenge

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
Time! Between work, family and other commitments, I found it difficult to squeeze sometime for MYSELF!

What motivated you to stay on the course?
I was motivated as I saw the weight starting to come off.  Even on the weeks that I didn’t lose any pounds I was encouraged by the fact that I didn’t gain any weight.  All the positive feedback I keep getting from everyone at work is also motivating and encouraging to me.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
I have started eating more healthy.  More vegetables and fruit.  I tried new things and liked them, like spaghetti squash.  I have salad or vegetables at lunch and dinner every day.  Also I always thought I ate fruit but really I only prepared the fruit for my family and nibbled a little bit,  now I make sure I eat 3 fruits each day.  I now eat more fish, ground turkey and chicken breast.  I have limited my starch intake.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
My advice would be to think about the time you spend doing other things that could be spent working out/exercising.  I used to always make excuses of things I needed to do at home and why I couldn’t exercise. Then I finally decided that all those things could wait.  Some days I only walk on the tread mill for 15 minutes and others I am there an hour.  Whatever the time is, it’s certainly more than if I had gone home and just sat in front of the couch watching T.V.

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
Going forward I will be more mindful of what I eat but also making sure that I am exercising. ( I never did before)
