Name: P. Burns
Location: JFK Medical Center. Atlantis, FL
Outcome: Increased Strength
Program: 2014 Total Transformation Challenge
What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
In administration, my days are long and I also cook every day for my family. Making time to go to the gym 2-3 days a week was difficult but well worth it.
What motivated you to stay on the course?
My goal is to build my strength so that I can improve my bone density and prevent Osteoporosis
Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
Not at first. I do eat pretty healthy but I really had to reduce my carbs to include fruits. I had to stick to protein and veggies. I also limit my fruits to berries and apples.
What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
If I can make the time, you can too. I work 12-14 hrs a day and cook meals every night. It takes planning and organization but it can be done.
How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
I will continue to sign up for the challenges because it helps me build strength, keep me accountable and committed to a goal. I enjoy seeing others in the gym enjoying the classes, supporting and encouraging each other and seeing the transformations. What an employee benefit!
