What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My diet was (and sometimes still) my challenge. Trying to eat healthy when you live with an awesome cook and you’re surrounded by amazing food could be very tempting and challenging. I had to make a change to see a change.
What motivated you to stay on the course?
Seeing results motivated me to stay course. It helped me stay motivated and wanting to see more positive changes. I also had a great team who encouraged one another. Go team surgical services!
Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
My diet didn’t change dramatically however it did change in order to get true results. For example, choosing salad instead of a burger or pizza and eating less portions. I also drink water instead of soda. Every now and then you have to cheat and have a guilty meal to keep you sane then get right back on track and realize that you are doing this for yourself, not anyone else so if you want to see results you have to do work. You get out what you put in.
What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
Set a reasonable goal and go for it. In hindsight the sacrifice is minor when you achieve your goal.
How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
We’ve got to stick with the program. Being physically active not only makes you look and feel better but our body needs it to grow strong and stay healthy.
