Name: J. Mirabal
Location: JFK Medical Center. Atlantis, FL
Improvement: 15+ lbs Weight Loss
Time: 3 Months
Program: 2010 Total Transformation Challenge - Summer Challenge

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
The biggest challenge was to find the time to complete the exercise for the week.  The second obstacle was to watch my calorie intake and don’t go hungry.

What motivated you to stay on the course?
The success of completing the weekly goals kept me motivated since I could see some result each week in the form of pounds lost. I also think that been part of the group, participating in the   weekly challenge and having a great Trainer, all added to staying motivated.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
Yes, I am making sure I have at least three meals a day. I am also conscious of my calorie intake so if I want a nice piece of cake, I know I needed to burn some calories to compensate the indulgence.  I really did not  go hungry, I am eating well but I am eating healthier and I cut down in all the in between snacks. I started using a calorie tracker which help me stay on course and kept me away from those heavy calories foods. I think a major change was to eat small portions of the heavy calorie foods and a larger portion of the healthy food, the end result was the same, you are full.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
Think of the challenge ahead as a treat to yourself and enjoy the ride. Whatever you lose, it does not matter, each pound lost is an accomplishment and it was time well spend on yourself.

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
I will continue my exercise routine since it is now part of my daily schedule.  I have more pounds to lose so I will set myself weekly challenge to stay focus. I will also continue to monitor  what I eat and eat healthier.
