Name: A. Smith
Improvement: 45lbs. Weight Loss Time: 3 months Program: 2011 Total Transformation Challenge What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)? My biggest challenge was getting in the habit of going to the gym and watching what I eat. What motivated you to stay on the course? What really motivated me was my daughter who is 16 years old and overweight. I know that she is very self conscious about her weight so I thought to myself “If I started losing weight maybe she would too”. Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed! My diet really changed. I used to eat a lot of fried foods and fast foods. So I started watching what I was eating and cut back on the sodas. I used to drink a can of Pepsi (sometimes 2 or more can) everyday. That’s at least 500 Calories that I just stored! Now I pay attention to my calories. My kids also started helping me. For example, when I cook dinner instead of frying chicken or pork chops they would tell me “Mom you know you should bake that. It’s better for your diet” What advice could you give to others that want the same results? My advice to others is this: Don’t just sit down and say “I will do it next time” or “I need to lose weight but I just don’t have the time” I used to say that all the time. Now I go daily to the park with my daughter and my grandson. This is Fun! I know better now. After losing the weight and lowering my blood pressure, I also helped my daughter loss weight and feel good about herself again. Go for it! You would never know what awaits you until you start. How is this experience going to affect you going forward? I am not stopping now! This is for me and my family. |
