Name:                         Y. Mateo
Improvement:           12 lbs Weight Loss / 2% Reduction of Body Fat
Time:                           3 months
Program:                    2015 Total Transformation Challenge—Summer Edition

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
When I started the program, my biggest challenge was to find the time to come to the gym. We all know that between work and personal stuff, it’s really hard to the find time to go to the gym. I looked at it like an investment on my own health. I knew that once I’m in the gym, I have no problem putting in all the effort.

What motivated you to stay on the course?

What motivated me was my health. I had my regular checkup a few months ago and I was told by my doctor that my blood pressure was a little too high. I was recommended to have it checked regularly for about a month and if there was no improvement, the next step was to start taking BP medication. At that time, I refused to take any BP medication and realized that the best way to improve my health was by exercising and staying physically active. It wasn’t even a full month in this program and my BP went back to normal and I started feeling way better physically.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!

Yes, my diet changed but not a whole lot. What really changed was my eating habits later in the day. Now my dinner is my lightest meal of the day. I also reduced the amount of carbs and sugar I eat. Instead of eating white bread, I eat Whole wheat now.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?

My advice would be to stick to your plan, stay focus. A lot of times it’s easy to skip the gym, especially when you get out of work and you’re tired and you just want to get home. Those are the days you need that motivation to stop by the gym and do some work out.

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?

I know my biggest challenge now will be to continue working out, continue with the good eating habits. Hopefully I can continue go get better.
