Name:                        B. Dautruche
Improvement:           10lb weight loss / 4% Reduction of Body Fat
Time:                          3 months
Program:                   2012 Total Transformation Challenge

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
Two of my biggest obstacles were getting to the gym after working a 12 hour day and food portions. I noticed that running in the afternoon just wasn't enough to see results. So, I started weight lifting which became a good stress reliever.  After a long day of dealing with "cleaning edges and corners", I can go melt the stress away by doing 30 minutes of weights with dumbbells.

What motivated you to stay on the course?
My motivation was my own competitiveness; I strive on being number one. I was able to hold the number one spot for the women for the first nine weeks of the challenge. I did it by exceeding my miles for the week and averaging three to four challenges a week.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
My diet changed as I got more involved in the challenge. I cut down on my simple carbs such as bread, pasta, potatoes, and rice. I also increased my fruit and vegetable intake (salad) and protein as well. This was the best and easiest changes for me to follow . During week eight I started incorporating protein shakes after every workout to help my muscles recover (My favorite recipe is banana and strawberry!).  Finally, I started cutting my food portion sizes. For example, instead of eating cereal from a large mixing bowl, I used a small bowl.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
If you’re looking for results, you have to be willing to put in the time and effort.

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
Going forward I see myself continuing my workout to reach my ideal body fat percentage, and maintain my new healthy eating habits.
