What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My biggest challenge was doing my 5k run under 25 minutes! I am in my 50's and never in a million years could I think I could do it!!
What motivated you to stay on the course?
My partner in the challenge! Penny…
She was so committed. When the challenge first started I had to push her to go to the gym but during the challenge she was the one encouraging me!
Of course I can’t forget Rami!!! He is so encouraging. When I was ready to give up there he was...pushing me to go further. Thank you Rami!!!
Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
Yes my diet changed! Yes I Stopped eating desserts, fried foods, and potato chips. This was very hard to do as my Husband was having carrot cake right in front of me!!I started drinking more water. In the beginning Penny and I would bring in healthy food for one another for lunch.
What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
Please do it for "YOU"! I know it’s hard when you leave work....you just want to get out of the JFK campus. But you will feel so much better after you walk out of the gym. If you are looking to do the challenge...get yourself a good partner. I almost dropped 4% of my body fat!!!
How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
Definitely I will continue to eat healthy. I am going to keep on running.
