What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My biggest challenge was to get started and to be consistent with daily exercise or running. Finding a way to add exercise to the daily routine was a challenge in the beginning, unfortunately work was first.
What motivated you to stay on the course?
I was motivated by seeing results of the efforts that I put forward, after 1 month, just 2-3 lbs. made a big difference in clothes and my energy level went up. My 5k times also improved by 2 minutes.
Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
I made sure to take my lunch daily and avoid eating out during the week. I like spinach salads with strawberries and walnuts. On the weekends I made stuffed peppers with turkey and fresh tomatoes and I always made extra, so I had lunch for the week. I was already eating healthy pretty much most of the time. I just had to make sure I ate breakfast daily (I would sometimes skip it when too busy).
What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
Find an activity that you enjoy doing, and don’t give up always.
How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
I will be stronger, healthier and more energetic. I would love to improve my 5 k time to under 30 minutes this year.
