Name:                           A. Chambers
Improvement:             20+ lbs Weight Loss / No Longer Takes Cholesterol Medicine
Time:                              3 months
Program:                      2015 Total Transformation Challenge - Summer Edition

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My biggest challenge was to walk on the days that I really didn’t feel like it.  The days I would say “I’m tired”.  But once I would get out there and walk I was glad that I pushed myself & was proud of myself.  When I would complete my miles I would tell myself “that wasn’t so bad and you can do this!”  It made me feel better.

What motivated you to stay on the course?
The first few pounds I lost motivated me to keep it up and to see if I could lose more.  Then it was another week and another pound.  The scale told me I was losing weight but I couldn’t tell it at first. Then one day I pulled a piece of clothing out of my closet that had been too small and I could fit into it again.  It made me smile.  I knew I had to keep it up, this was working.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
I did change my diet.  I started to pay attention to what I was feeding my body.  I completely cut out bread, crackers, cereal, junk food and fried food.  I would eat a wrap for lunch when I felt like I needed something to stick to the ribs. I started eating more fresh vegetables, salads and protein.  In the late evening when a snack attack occurred I would reach for a sugar free mint or two and sometimes 3 before the craving would leave.  I didn’t give in.  I did enjoy a piece of cake at a wedding I went to. But that was a special occasion.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
Make a commitment to yourself for yourself.  Only you can make the changes you want to see in yourself.  Just wanting it isn’t enough.   You have to put forth the effort to change and if you do change will come.  Keep reminding yourself of the end result, how you want to see yourself at the end of the program.  You are worth it! You deserve it! Never give up on yourself!

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
I must say that this has been a very positive experience and I want to take what I have learned and make it a lifestyle change.  I was able to quit taking my cholesterol medication by just diet and exercise.  My physician was even surprised at the changes I have been able to make.  All of my blood work is within normal limits.  I will just keep doing what the Total Transformation Challenge recommends and I will always be moving forward.  Never to go back.
