Name:                         M. Mata
Improvement:           15lbs. Weight Loss
Time:                          3 months
Program:                    2011 Total Transformation Challenge

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My biggest challenge was finding the time to get to the gym. Life is fast-paced and finding the time to squeeze time for the gym is not always easy but you only get one life so a healthy life is important.

What motivated you to stay on the course?
In order to join the gym I had to take a health assessment. The results were not good and kind of embarrassing. Mild hypertension and my body fat was unacceptable. That motivated me at first to get into shape.
After getting in the gym I saw changes. Energy and fitting better into my clothes not to mention the compliments. I'm down 14 extra pounds that I was carrying around. It also helps to have a great inspiring person such as Rami training and teaching me. Big shout out to Rami for all the help and its and ongoing process. After comparing older pictures to me now, I’m definitely sticking with it. Still got more pounds to shed so I’ll see you next challenge. This is only the beginning.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
Never used to eat salads but as I worked out and wanted to be healthier it seemed my body naturally craved healthier foods. Now when I go shopping I always check out the nutrition guide, also something I never used to do. I truly think this will be a lifestyle and not just a phase but it's like anything else. You gotta keep at it.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
It's like the quote that Rami always says: “There will never be time, you have to make the time.” This isn't the Biggest Loser, this is real. It takes hard work and diet but if you truly want it then you can do it. I think we are all proof of that.

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
I lost 14 pounds in 12 weeks. To some that isn't much but to me it’s a start. That’s 14 pounds that's no longer weighing me down. It'll also positively affect other aspects of your life. If you want it, then you gotta go out and get it. No looking back.
