Location: JFK Medical Center. Atlantis, FL Improvement: 30 lbs Weight Loss / 5.4% Reduction of Body Fat Time: 3 Months Program: 2009 Total Transformation Challenge What was your biggest challenge? Getting to the gym. I had to stop feeling sorry for myself after working an 8hr shift. Once I got to the gym I was motivated by Rami and my fellow employees and I was game. The affect was excitingly contagious. What motivated you to stay on course? My MD kept telling me to lose weight. He would ask me “Don’t you want to be around for your grandchildren and see them grow up?” The answer was obvious. My family history played a great part of my desire to keep fit and healthy. My father died of a major coronary at 64 years. Much motivation came from Rami and my fellow employees and my family. Having a group to compete with kept my adrenaline pumping and gave me great pride as each pound disappeared from my body. Also did not want to let the team down. Did your diet change? If so how? Sticking with a healthy diet, cutting out junk food. I now keep plenty of fruit and vegetables around for snacks and drinking more water and a lot less diet soda. What advice would you give others that want the same results? We are very fortunate to have Rami as our trainer and for JFK to encourage employees to establish healthy lifestyles. Preventive medicine is the best. Kudos to Rami and JFK. I have worked hard and have great pride in myself. My esteem is elated. My back is strong and my sleep is more restful and solid. Also I am less tired and more alert in body and mind. You need to want the change. If I can do it anyone can do it. How is this experience going to affect you going forward? It has had a positive effect. I now want to keep exercising and lose more weight. I must keep a strong focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and continue eating healthy. I have a new respect for myself and happy to be a good example to family and friends. |
