Name: E. King
Location: Mercy Hospital. Miami, FL Improvement: 20+ lbs Weight Loss / Reduction of Cholesterol to a Healthy Level Time: 3 months Program: 2015 Total Transformation Challenge What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)? My biggest challenge was eating 1-2hrs after I get up. (I never wake up hungry and I don’t like breakfast foods) But now that I am wiser, I will never do without breakfast because of how it boost my metabolism! What motivated you to stay on the course? I was really motivated to stay on course when I began to see how much better my body looked and how much better I felt. And when my family, and all of the employees began to noticed that I was losing weight I knew I was on the right track. My daughter and I have been working at Mercy together for awhile, but I have received so many comments lately about how much we look alike. There has been several incidents where doctors and staff have began a conversation with me and thought they were talking to my daughter. Oh I had my annual check-up last week and I was so thrilled when my doctor came into the room looking at me and announcing that that I had lost 16 lbs since my last visit in Sept. He wanted to know what was I doing? Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed! My diet changed because I switched lunch meal with my dinner meal/I eat more green vegetables/eat mostly chicken and fish/less bread and desserts/drink at least 100 ounces of water/day./I do not eat after 7pm, only a small snack, unless it’s a date or special occasion. What advice could you give to others that want the same results? My advice to others is to get serious about your weight and your body, spend some time on YOU! You must stay committed! This challenge is fun, and your body deserves it. Your hard work pays off. I will stay on course until I get the Michelle Obama arms/biceps :) How is this experience going to affect you going forward? I must say this was the best gift I could ever give to myself. I feel better than I have felt in a long time. I wake up with energy and go to bed with energy. Before I started this challenge, I was taking Pepcid at least 2-3 days/week. But since I began to eat healthier, changed my lunch meal with my dinner meal, and exercising regular. I have not taken any Pepcid for the past 12 weeks. I never felt like I was on a diet just eating healthy. My husband ate what I ate and walked with me some evenings…….and to his surprise he had lost 9 lbs when he went to his physician for his annual check-up. This experience will affect me in a very positive way. This is a lifetime change for me, not just for this challenge. I am now waiting for my lab results to compare pre and post labs. Thanks to our trainers Rami and Jose they are the best. I was able to reach them any day or time with questions. The last time I reached out to Rami, he was out of town, he still responded to my call. |
