Location: JFK Medical Center. Atlantis, FL Improvement: 40 lbs Weight Loss / 7% Reduction of Body Fat Time: 3 Months Program: 2008 Total Transformation Challenge My biggest challenge/obstacle was realizing when this is over then my challenge/obstacles begin in being able to follow thru with the progress I have made in the last 12 weeks and doing this on my own. I have to set my own goals for the week and achieve challenges on my own so I will stay strong and healthy. The competitiveness of my team mates as well as my workout buddy has helped me to stay on course. Watching and seeing my body change and get stronger has really made a difference for me because if I want that to continue and to see results I must keep up with the course of action I have taken. With this challenge I have understood the true meaning of no pain no gain. My diet of course changed drastically. I actually look at a label on any thing I put in my mouth and I try to eat healthier with more fruits and veggies. However, I do allow myself to cheat at least one day out of the seven, which I think has helped tremendously, so I keep on track without all the temptations during the week. Your diet has to change in order to achieve those extra results. There is nothing wrong with having French fries or potato chips as long as it is in moderation followed thru with some workout activities. Sometimes I think I workout to eat. The advice for others that want the same results is look within you. Make sure you are ready to make the effort to change and why not. Find someone else who wants or can help you with your workouts and give the extra support you need to stay on track. Do it for yourself not for anyone else, you got to want to make a change for you. Why put off for two weeks when you can start today. Some days when I have worked out harder than others and can’t even walk because my legs hurt just to sit down I look at the results and go back for more. This experience is going to affect me to keep going forward because I am stronger and healthier. I can do more activities without having to take breaks in between the activities. I can outlast my children as before they outlasted me. This was just the jump start I needed to change my life for me not to mention I like to see my body change to where I can look at myself in the mirror. |
