Improvement: 30 lbs. Weight Loss / 5% Reduction of Body Fat Time: 6 months Program: 2014 Total Transformation Challenge / Summer Challenge What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)? The most difficult challenges were time and motivation. I typically work 10-12 hours 5 days a week and am not always at JFK often getting home after 7pm. I was not able to take advantage of the gym and challenges there at JFK but I continued to get in my daily walks which definitely helped. One other challenge I had was having some minor surgery in the middle of the challenge which limited my ability to work out and even walk. What motivated you to stay on the course? Two factors kept me going. One was the slow changes that I saw, both on the scale and in appearance. The other was being motivated by our Trainer, at the EWC, to not give up when things slowed down. Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed! This was the most difficult part of the challenge. My biggest change was dinner. I was never able to make lunch my biggest meal of the day but was able to reduce the carbs at dinner. Fighting the urge to snack while watching TV at night was also a challenge. I think the biggest overall change was simply decreasing carbs with every meal, staying away from unhealthy snacks, and drinking lots of water. What advice could you give to others that want the same results? One, listen to our Trainer and follow his advice. Two, do not get disappointed if your weight or appearance doesn’t dramatically change right away…remember, it not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Lastly…know why you are doing this. Your reason will not be the same as mine or possibly anyone else’s but it is probably the biggest motivation you have. How is this experience going to affect you going forward? It’s not over yet! I still have a long way to go in my health journey. Looking forward to the next one! |
