Name: B. Walsh
Location: JFK Medical Center. Atlantis, FL Outcome: Increased Strength Program: 2014 Total Transformation Challenge - Summer Edition What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)? Aside from getting to the gym and doing all the challenges, my biggest obstacle was believing in myself. Rami, our trainer, mentor and motivator believed in my ability to perform some of the challenges at their maximum levels. He cheered me on and motivated me to try my hardest. He was just as excited when I accomplished a challenge as I was. Now I'm a believer! What motivated you to stay the course? Being a responsible team member was a big motivation for me. I wanted our team to do well and finish in 1ST place. Seeing results of our hard work motivated me even more and brought out my competitive nature. Go Lab Rats! Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed! I eat pretty well but before the Challenge, I would eat most of my calories at dinner and afterwards. Now I eat alot more protein throughout the day, eat a lighter supper and I ended my love affair with the peanut butter jar after dinner. I do cheat a couple of times a week but because of my increased activity level I was still able to still lose weight. What advice could you give to others that want the same results? My advise would be to join the EWC. It's a great FREE employee benefit and Rami, our trainer , will customize a routine to meet your fitness level and goals. Everybody has seen pictures of someone who lost weight and gotten stronger from exercise and lifestyle changes. That SOMEONE could be you! How is this experience going to affect you going forward? Going forward, I realized how succeeding in the TTC is similar to being successful in other aspects of my life. It's important to work as a part of a team toward a common goal and being able to reach that goal is a fulfilling experience. I also realized that a little competition is a good thing. Also, with preparation, dedication, motivation and perseverance, you can accomplish many things. |
