What was your biggest challenge / obstacle(s)?
My biggest obstacle was believing that I could physically do the exercises. I have never been an active person nor did I challenge myself physically until I joined the Wellness Center. Our Trainer would encourage me and kept saying that I can do it, and before you know it, I was! Then I started getting stronger and able to concentrate on my form and not just trying to keep up.
What motivated you to stay on the course?
The members of my team motivated me to keep going. Because we were doing this together, no one wanted to quit. We were accountable to each other. Also, once I started to lose weight, it felt so good that I wanted to keep going, success promotes more success!
Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
Diet was the biggest challenge for me! I am well informed in various diet plans, having tried many through the years, but have not been successful in keeping weight off long-term. Today, I am following the program’s food plan from its website, using an online food tracker that it recommended to log what I eat and how much, since I needed more structure (portion control), and this works for me.
What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
I would recommend anyone to join the New Wellness Center, and definitely to participate in one of these challenges. Stick with it, believe in yourself and your ability to make changes in your life. I always complained that I don’t have time to fit in exercise, but “where there’s a will, there’s a way”, and now I cannot imagine my life without it!
How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
I have also had the pleasure of being guided by the nicest person you will ever meet, caring, attentive, and knowledgeable in his field. Kudos to our Trainer and thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
