What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My biggest challenge was the scare for my life after experiencing my heart attack at the young age of only 35 years old.
What motivated you to stay on the course?
My motivation was having a close call to death and realizing something had to be done. I want to be able to see my kids grow up. I want to see them graduate. I want to be around for them.
Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
My diet definitely changed. I started by cutting out all sweets and soda. I focus instead on drinking water. No more greasy food or fried food at all. Now, every meal I have it must have something green in it like salads, vegetables, or something fresh. I learned to love eating vegetables again. My protein source now comes from healthier choices like grilled / broiled chicken or fish.
This program has changed my outlook on how I eat. It also motivated me to exercise, and change my outlook on life in a more productive way.
What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
The advice I like to give to others is to take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Give yourself an evaluation. Only you can make the change.
How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
I truly feel that I am no longer that sick, old, tired, and out-of-shape 35 year-OLD man. I am the young, healthy and strong 40 year-YOUNG man.
