Name: J. Temple
Location: JFK Medical Center. Atlantis, FL
Improvement: 40+ lbs. Weight Loss
Time: 3 months
Program: 2015 Total Transformation Challenge

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
My biggest challenge was staying committed to my new adjusted diet during this program as well as getting accustomed to now drinking at least a gallon of water throughout the day daily.

What motivated you to stay on the course?
The motivation came from being overweight for my height for the past 13yrs of my life and wanting to get back to my athletic weight when I was playing football.  I have a souvenir picture of myself that I kept when I was in the best shape of my life and it has always motivated me to want to lose weight so I could get back to the way I looked when I played football.  Please see photo attached.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
Yes my diet did change. I ate less white rice and white breads. In the morning the first thing I do is make a 74oz bottle of Lemon water and I would drink that whole thing throughout the day. At about 8a.m. I would eat breakfast and I would have a grapefruit and oatmeal. Then I ate a large lunch majority of the time by 1p.m. For snacking, I would have unsalted peanuts in between breakfast and lunch in case I got hungry. I did this consistently 5 days a week throughout this challenge.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
My advice to others is you have to be realistic with yourself when it comes to changing your eating habits and working out. Don’t set goals for yourself you are unable to achieve in the short term. Make small goals for yourself, for example mine was becoming more consistent with my eating habits. I was 240 lbs before I started the challenge and I’m 200Lbs now.

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
This experience has had a lasting effect on me. Going forward when I finally settle down, get married, and have kids I am going to construct a healthy living diet for my offspring that well trickle down for the rest of my generations that will come after me!
