Name: K. Hamersky
Improvement: 27 lbs. Weight Loss / 5+% Body Fat Reduction
Time: 3 months
Program: 2025 Summer Challenge

What was your biggest challenge / obstacle (s)?
The biggest challenge was initially just getting to the gym on a somewhat regular basis. After a long day at work, it’s easy to go “I’m too tired” and then just go home, maybe pick up food on the way. Once I was at the gym, I didn’t really have an excuse-“I’m here so I may as well work out”. Going to the gym became a part of the daily schedule.

What motivated you to stay on the course?
Every week I would feel a little lighter and my clothes would be fitting better. My colleagues and friends would tell me I was shrinking and that felt good to hear. I would think of all the activities I still wanted to do as well as other tough challenges I had already overcome. I knew I was tough and could keep going.

Did your diet change? If so, How? Please be detailed!
I changed the amount of food I was eating at every meal; lunch was bigger than dinner. I stopped eating foods that would increase my blood sugar at a certain time. I cooked more at home which saved money. I love my overnight oats with pb and strawberries. I don’t deprive myself of the foods I like-i just enjoy them differently.

What advice could you give to others that want the same results?
Go to the gym with someone, especially if it’s the first time or if it’s been awhile. It’s more motivating with a friend at the gym; you can push or challenge each other too. I took one of my colleagues because she wanted to do some weight training-it was a good workout and fun as well.

How is this experience going to affect you going forward?
This journey is not over for me-I have an end goal in mind and this is just the ending of one part towards that goal. It was definitely the hardest part because it started at a place where I was not at my best- I needed to build myself back up. Now I’m at a point where I can say “Look where I was-I accomplished that! And I don’t ever want to go back.” It makes moving forward even easier.
